Membership Categories

You may join ASHA as a Certified Member, as a Member Only (without Certification), or as an International Affiliate. The eligibility requirements of each category of membership are listed below:

Certified Membership

Certified Membership is open to individuals applying for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Audiology (CCC-A) or Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). To be eligible, you must meet the audiology and speech-language pathology standards that are in effect at the time of your application.

Persons joining ASHA as Certified Members are afforded the full benefits of membership and certification.

Certification Without Membership

An individual may also choose to apply for certificate-holder status that is, hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence but not become a member of the Association. Non-member certificate holders are not eligible for member benefits. While in the certification process a candidate for the CCC must pay the annual certification-in-process fee. Maintaining certification status is contingent upon the timely payment of annual fees.
