Thursday, November 19 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Join the ASHFoundation for a true New Orleans-style JazzFest and fundraiser featuring our field's own Dr. Chuck Berlin and nationally known local guests at the Howlin' Wolf, one of the Big Easy's premier music clubs.
The Howlin' Wolf has a long history as one of New Orleans' most interesting venues, named after the legendary bluesman Chester Burnett. After outgrowing its original space in a cotton warehouse, the venue relocated to what was previously the New Orleans Music Hall, in the Warehouse District, a short, two-block walk from the convention center.
The building's exterior is a mural of New Orleans neighborhood scenes that tell the story of the city's musical history. The interior is every bit as dynamic, with a hand-carved mahogany bar taken from Al Capone's hotel, The Lexington, during its demolition. The classic shotgun houses that flank the stage continue the feeling of New Orleans.
Purchase your tickets for this great music reception immediately following the Convention Opening Session. Tickets are $100 each and $50 for up to 2 additional tickets. Purchase your tickets on the Convention registration form. If you are already registered for the Convention, call 301-694-5243 to purchase tickets for the JazzFest.
