Audiology Conference 2009

CEU Instructions

Earning CEUs online works a little differently from other ASHA conferences. Please take a few minutes to read the CEU Instructions below before you access Audiology 2009 using the link at the bottom of this page.

Audiology 2009 is designed to be as flexible and convenient as possible. Simply choose any combination of recorded lectures, live chat sessions and supplemental readings. You'll earn CEUs for those activities you complete.

Once the conference begins on October 13, you may listen to recorded lectures or keynotes at any time until the conference closes on October 26. The only scheduled events are live chats with presenters—every other activity can be completed on your own schedule.

CEU Activities

You may earn CEUs for completing the following activities at Audiology 2009:

You may earn up to 3.0 ASHA CEUs (30 hours) for the entire conference, provided you complete every CEU-eligible activity.

Audiology 2009 is registered for ASHA CEUs as a Live Event. In order to earn ASHA CEUs for the static components (recorded lectures and supplementary readings), you are required to take part in the conference's interactive components. You can do this by posting three things you learned in the Conference Hall under Topic Discussions. You must post three things learned for the supplemental CEU readings (but only three; you don't need to post three things for each individual article).

You are also encouraged to ask questions of presenters, and to engage in discussions and chats with your colleagues. The Topic Discussions area is an excellent place to do this.

Non-CEU Activities

The following activities are not eligible for CEUs:

  • Informal "quick chats"
  • Posting in the Open Discussion area
  • Supplemental references and Web links
  • Reading transcripts of Live Chats

Where Are CEU Activities Located?

  • Topic Lectures are located in the Conference Hall
  • Scheduled chat sessions with faculty are located in the Live Chats section
  • Supplemental CEU Readings are located in the Additional Readings section
