How to Apply for Certification in Audiology

Applicants for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) are evaluated against the 2007 Standards for Certification in Audiology

Initial Application

To begin the application process for your certification, you must first submit these items together:

Supplemental Documents

Before completing the certification process, you must also submit the following:

  • Passing Praxis exam scores (sent directly to ASHA from ETS)
  • Official graduate transcript* which verifies the date and degree awarded (may arrive directly from institution)

*Applicants applying more than three years after graduation from a CAA-accredited graduate program must submit official undergraduate transcripts reflecting all coursework completed for certification. Internationally educated applicants must submit an original evaluated transcript.

Certification Process

Reviewing a completed application and supplemental documentation will usually take about 4–6 weeks; however, we are currently experiencing an unusually high volume of applications, so the reviewing process may take up to 8–10 weeks. You may submit an application anytime after you have completed the necessary coursework and received the required graduate degree.

Please contact the Action Center at 800-498-2071 with any questions about applying for ASHA certification.
